siRNA Transfection:
Potent inhibition of specific gene expression is experimentally achieved by the transfection of small interfering RNA (siRNA), which binds to the RISC complex and causes degradation of target complementary mRNA molecules in the cell. Successful RNAi experimentation is dependent on the highly efficient delivery of siRNA into cells through the transfection of stable and functional siRNA molecules. An important application of siRNA is inducing cell cycle arrest. By targeting key regulators of the cell cycle, siRNA can halt cell division, providing crucial insights into the mechanisms of cell cycle control and enabling the study of cellular responses to arrest. This is particularly important in cancer research, where understanding how to effectively stop cell proliferation can lead to the development of new therapeutic strategies.
